Enhancing Dialogic Learning with Low-Stakes Writing Activities

Many faculty members resist integrating more writing activities into their courses, largely because they fear an increase in workload, namely grading. In this presentation, I distinguish between low-stakes and high-stakes writing assignments, and I discuss a variety of ways that low-stakes writing activities can be integrated into different disciplines in ways that enhance dialogic learning without overburdening the professor with extra work.
